Maximus and Cleveland

November 16th, 2005

My new powerbook (Maximus) and Ipod (Cleveland) both arrived yesterday. Not even 24 hours later, I cannot image how I lived without a Mac previously. Everything is designed. Nothing is just thown in. It's as if everything they create, they think how can we make this a little bit better. I'm quickly becoming spoiled. I have included a few shots below.

Maximus, My new powerbook

Cleveland, My New Ipod

P.S. I know naming electronics makes me a geek. I'm ok with that.

John, happy for you! Don’t you have the problems with the screen which everybody seems to have with the new powerbooks? (strange lines, only seen on some colors)

  6. @Matthijs – I haven’t heard about or noticed any issues with strange lines. I’ll keep an eye out though.

John, you can read more about it here: here and here. It seems the problem is on almost all new models, but sometimes it’s hard to see. In the first link a testimage is given with which you can check if the problem exists. John Hicks has the problem too with his new PB (see his latest post).

  8. Dang, I do believe mine does have the lines. It doesn’t bother me too much but its interesting to know. Thanks for alerting me of this Matthijs.

No problem. I am saving for a pb myself, and happened to read about this somewere. And indeed, not everyone has a problem with the lines being there. If I understand correctly it’s not always visible and even then it might not be too bad.

  10. Excellent site and excellent choice to move to the Macintosh!
Powerbook And an iPod! Don’t ya just love em?
Congrats keep up the nice tips here, I’m learning a lot!
