Google Search Beta with Keyboard Shortcuts

July 10th, 2007

So I just came across something really sweet. Google has a beta search site that has keyboard navigation through shortcuts much like Google Reader. If you do a lot of googling, follow these instructions for keyboard bliss.
  1. Open Firefox
  2. Create a new bookmark using this link's location.

  3. Type ? john nunemaker in your address bar.

    address bar
  4. Navigate the search results using j/k, etc. as you are informed on the right side.

Until just a few minutes ago, I was unaware that I needed this. After a few searches, I'm wondering how I lived without it for so long.

  1. Nice find! For us Camino users, you can make this your default toolbar search engine as described here.

  2. Also, I should mention that Safari users can check out this comment on a previous post of mine.
